If you’re going to get all of that work done, a fast typing speed alone won’t be enough. You also need to be well organized and have excellent time management skills.

If it’s riddled with errors, it doesn’t do you or your employer any good to have all of the information entered on time. If a data entry clerk makes a mistake, that bad information will trickle down to every other employee who needs to use it.
You’ll need to be prepared to stay concentrated on your tasks, double-check your work, and pay very close attention to detail.
Basic Office Software
Data entry is a computer-based job, so you’ll need to know your way around standard office equipment and software. So, before you apply, make sure you’re computer savvy and can operate a printer, scanner, and copier.
Standard office programs such as Word and Excel are required for most of these positions, though your employer may have other programs such as a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
Since many of these jobs are entry-level positions, you’ll likely go through a training program to learn the workflow, software, and other requirements of the job. Employers love hiring fast learners who can pick up new software skills quickly.
Even after your initial training, technology is always changing. Be prepared to continue learning new software platforms throughout your career.
